Our Team

From the time that Dr. Daniel Robinson founded Robinson Animal Hospital in 1981 to the present-day, our staff of veterinarians, care providers and support personnel has remained committed to serving our patients and their families in Clayton, eastern Wake and western Johnston Counties and throughout the greater Raleigh areas.

The current team at Robinson Animal Hospital, under the direction of Dr. Thomas G. Head, has a passion for our work.  We combine our love of animals with our years of expertise, in order to provide our patients with the highest caliber of care possible.

Dr. Thomas G. Head DVM is a 1996 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He worked alongside Dr. Robinson from 1997 until the beginning of 2001. Dr. Head purchased the practice and the hospital from Dr. Robinson in June of 2011. Dr. Head currently resides in eastern Wake county with his wife, daughter, and mother-in-law. They have 2 Havanese dogs, Chippy and Desi and 1 cat named Frankie. Dr. Head and his family are actice members of Celebration Church. He looks forward to meeting each and everyone of you and your pets!



Dr. Emma Hage Wahl DVM is a graduate from St. Georges University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies where she earned her doctorate in 2009. She completed her clinical year at Murdoch University in Western Australia and has worked at various small animal and feline only (yup you read that right feline only) practices throughout the US. Dr. Hage moved to Clayton, NC with her family and chocolate lab and has interests in small animal medicine especially pertaining to felines and dentistry.




Stephanie Steimle was born in Raleigh and has lived in Garner her whole life. She has been working in the veterinary medicine field since 2010. She is currently going to school at Wake Technical Community College and is hoping to get into the radiography program.  She and her husband were married in March of 2017, who share 2 dogs together, Roxy and Max.


Jennifer Pope RVT was born in Raleigh and raised in Bunn, North Carolina. After completing her B.S. in Communications from East Carolina University in 2005, Jennifer worked as a Corporate and News video editor until the recession allowed her to follow her lifelong dream of working with animals. Jennifer went back to school in 2013, and in 2015 she graduated from Central Carolina Community College with her degree in Veterinary Medical Technology. She is now a Registered Veterinary Technician with the state of North Carolina. Jennifer currently lives in Apex with her boyfriend, and her beloved pets, Snickers, and Cindy Mew Who. She enjoys photography, gardening, and baking in her spare time





Sara Yarosis moved to North Carolina from Newtown, Connecticut in February of 2013. Shortly after moving to NC, she studied Veterinary Technology at Miller-Motte College and plans to complete her Veterinary Technician certification once she perfects her skills. Sara has had a strong passion for animals since she was a small child and frequently takes in rescues and fosters. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, family and their houseful of animals including five dogs, seven cats, a ring-necked dove, a sugar glider, a rose haired tarantula, and various fosters.


Nick Hunter was born in New York, but raised in North Carolina. He has been a dog lover all his life, having grown up with dogs since a small boy. He has recently completed his online vet tech program with Penn Foster and will plan to take the VTNE and state boards later this year. Nick’s background includes several years as a veterinary technician here at Robinson Animal Hospital and more recently taking on the role of the practice manager. He enjoys seeing clients and their pets every day and knowing that he is helping to make pets healthier and happier! He and his fiancĂ© currently have 2 cats Doux and Kuzco and 2 dogs Scout and Rex. In his spare time Nick enjoys spending time with family, playing softball, and training Rex. Nick also enjoys working out and running 5K races with his twin brother.


Cortney Penny is a Johnston county native who grew up right downt the road from the hospital. She graduated from NC State in 2017 with a degree in communications and will graduate in December with a degree in Animal Science and minor in Zoology. Cortney plans to pursue her master's degree in Biology and will focus on wildlife conservation and ecology. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her fiance, friends, and her three big goofy dogs - Mason, Banjo, and Lilo, and her toilet trained kitty Ellie.


Abigail Powell was born in Raleigh and raised in Clayton, North Carolina. She graduated high school in 2019 where she earned a vet assistant certification and set the her goal to pursue a career in vet med. She is currently on track to become a registered vet tech. Abigail has always had a love for animals from a very young age and spends her time vounteering at Red Barn Rescue. Her furry family includes a boxer named Berkley, a bunny named Steve, and two geckos named Pat and Alex. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and playing with her energetic pup.
